🐾Murphy🐾

Put your paws together to celebrate our Pet of the Week, Murphy! This dapper guy is part of a dazzling duo of Mini Australian Shepherds. Murphy is an 8 year old blue merle; you'll also spot sister Rosie, the reddish-brown and white pup who is a little bit shorter. You may think it strange, but we love the loud welcome they both give upon our arrival - it's easy to see Murphy is excited to get out!

Crew members most familiar with the pair are Laura, Kathy, and Jessie, and a few others have also enjoyed walks with Murphy and sidekick Rosie. This duo gets scheduled a few times a week for a good walk, potty break, maybe playtime, and always receiving treats! Our visit covers all that within the 30-Minute Walk. Murphy and Rosie get excited for every visitor, but maybe with a different attitude depending on who's just arrived. Their welcome features both barking together, announcing the arrival. Usually Murphy gets things going.

Murphy stops the barking when he remembers it's time for a walk, which he usually notes as we're putting on his leash! This guy loves a good walk! He's happy to sniff the neighborhood, intimidate anybody who is out of place (like that mailman he sees everyday, perhaps) and of course leave his mark along the route.

In his owner's words, Murphy is a bit of a character! He's reactive to some other dogs he spots while walking, but very much does not like delivery or service people and the occasional jogger with a stroller. Murphy has also been trained to 'stop' his barking by obeying that command.

However, this barking biscuit of a pup seems to be acting out of anxiety rather than any aggression! Barking with a toy in his mouth muffles the sound just a decibel or two. And the cuteness skyrockets. It is always a family affair at Murphy's - their doggo cousin Harley comes to hang and take walks once in awhile too. The more the merrier! Treats all around!
