Laura
OWNER/FOUNDER
Hi, I’m Laura! Since a very young age, I have always had a huge love and passion for animals and decided there is nothing I would rather do than spend every moment possible with them. Growing up, I was home-schooled and I owned and took care of all kinds of dogs, cats, fish and chickens. Everyone always said the house was basically a zoo. I have been doing in-home pet care for others since I was old enough to walk there and learned the art of personalizing each visit for each pet. I had the chance through homeschooling to explore what I really wanted to do, and learn the skills I would need later in life to achieve that. I believe that owning and caring for pets is one of the most fulfilling and meaningful experiences that people can have in their life. Animals give us true, selfless love and they show us what it’s like to be honest, forgiving and always be there when it matters. My mission now has become to create a team of people who share in my belief and are just as excited as I am to make new animal friends and give lots of loving, attentive care. It’s an honor to be on this adventure with everyone, human and furry, in the Captain Flosse family and I am so thankful God brought me here!

Hi, my name is Suzi and I've had a love and passion for animals my whole life. I've had my own numerous pets since I was young and have spent time volunteering at various animal shelters in California. It is a joy to wake up every morning and know that I will be spending my day with animals that I have come to love and adore. I am currently a cat mom to three male cats; Pancake, Bacon and Sausage, my little Breakfast Club. It is an absolute honor and privilege to be working with Laura and the rest of the gang. I am looking forward to taking care of your babies.

Lucia
SENIOR PET CARE SPECIALIST
My name is Lucia and I’m the younger sister of the owner of this business, Laura! I’ve had cats for my whole life and I’ve had dogs since I was 4. I’ve always had a great love for animals and I find it awesome that I get to work with them as a job! Not only do I get to watch animals and walk dogs, but I get to have a personal bound with each one, as well. Each animal that I watch is unique in their own way, but equally a joy to watch and walk. I always try to be the best I can be for every animal and treat them all with the same amount of love and attention.

Jessie
FELINE CARE SPECIALIST
Hi! I'm Jessie and really, I'm just another animal. I'm observant to details and I focus on pet safety, having experience caring for my own various pets in the past.
My Romeo was a grey, black, and white tabby cat with a pink nose and no meow. He could fall asleep in any position, even falling off the couch. My girl Tagalong was a tabby-tortie, a fierce hunter, and a perfect lap warmer on a chilly Pennsylvania night. My Taggy lady passed in 2024 at the very old and beautiful age of 17. She was excellent at reading moods and being cozy, and equally amazing at jumping for a piece of string. Currently, I'm living with my partner and his 15 year old dog, Colt, who is the cutest old puppy dog in the entire world.
All of my moments with pets, starting in childhood, have built new layers to my empathy. I'll always try to see the world as if walking in your pet's adorable furry paws, or whatever the scaly varieties might call their shoes. You'll find that I enjoy applying creativity, humor, and even some psychology in my daily interactions with your animals.
I'm thrilled to bring my views and be a part of the Captain's caring team, who have all demonstrated the same compassion with each other as we do while working with your pets. I'm also overjoyed to be working for a woman-run business! Laura is hard-working, understanding, supportive, and always there to lend a hand. I strive to help out when needed as well.
I do really find all pets perfectly cute and adorable, and I will occasionally make a sketch of your pet, including it on my report for your entertainment. I look forward to meeting your beloved animals soon and getting to know them well!! -
Sarah
PET CARE SPECIALIST
Hello! My name is Sarah, I have a great passion for meeting and taking care of animals! I grew up with cats, the love for cats in my family is intense, and the current record for cats in my household is ten! All were adopted or found as kittens in the wild. I have to say, though, I do equally love the canine friends just as much. I've been working with dogs for a few years, and I just fell in love with it. There have been dogs in my household as small as a Havanese and as big as a Great Pyrenees! I've had little friends as well, like hamsters and guinea pigs. I have a hedgehog right now, his name is Crouton! I have a daughter who shares the animal love, she always asks me for more pets, and it's always hard to say no! I really just enjoy getting to see all the different personalities in each pet that I meet, it's really fascinating!

Christa

Hi, my name is Christa and I'm a Kindergarten teacher and a big animal lover. Animals have always been an important part of my life. I grew up begging my mom for all sorts of critters, fostered many puppies and kittens throughout high school and college, and have found my way back to caring for animals. I have my own cat, Dewey, who is the ruler of the house. At school, we have a bearded dragon and a tank full of fish. I'm excited to care for your pets and learn about their personalities. They bring us so much joy!

Victoria
PET CARE SPECIALIST
Hi I’m Victoria! Ever since I was little I always showed a passion for animals. I was always finding stray kittens and bring them home and taking them to the kitty rescue. My heart kitty, Kitters, passed when I was in High School I knew my calling was caring for animals. I went to school to be a Veterinary Technician to be able to provide the best care to any animal that I encountered. When I graduated I dove deep into rescue work. I worked in high volume spay/neuter for 5 years. I then opened my own 501(c)3 non-profit Cat Rescue that operated for 5 years and saved thousands of kitties. I currently have 4 kitties (Belle, Ko, Winnie, and Sweet Potato) and 2 German Shepards (Atlas and Apollo)! I have experience with all types of animals and enjoy giving them all the care and love they need and want. I’m dedicated to being the animals advocate and always putting them first. I look forward to giving high quality care to your fur babies!

Kathy
PET CARE SPECIALIST
Hello, my name is Kathy and I've spent many years in the corporate world and traveling for business. With that said, my overwhelming passion and heartfelt desire to help the significant growing number of animals and pets in need of finding their forever home never escaped me. A very good friend and I spent much of our spare time contemplating how we could help make a difference for as many unfortunate strays, abandoned, surrendered or abused animal's leading us to join forces to cultivate a plan between work, traveling and both being tenured loving pet-parents as well. We began our quest working with local veterinarians, smaller rescues, church communities and other networking outlets and began taking in a few dogs at a time addressing their outstanding health issues and needs along with dire spay and neutering efforts. Through our hard-work, determination and veterinarian assists our care-giver/fostering roles allowed many pets to find their forever homes❣️ I no longer travel and work PT which allows me to invest and share my time with other peoples "Best Friends" through walking and home visits at the well respected Captain Flosse's Pet Services. The owner Laura is a very kind and sincere person who has successfully achieved her dream and I'm happy I get to be of a part of it🐾 When I'm not at work I love spending time with my extra special side-kick Chloe💕

Heather
PET CARE SPECIALIST
Hi! My name is Heather, and I've been an animal lover from a very young age. My very first animals were two horses named Bunny and Little Red, and a cow named Milky Way. Taking care of large animals at such a young age, teaches you some valuable and amazing lessons. It was a lot of really hard work, but well worth it for all the love in return. Over the years came many dogs and cats- some rescues and some strays. Hamsters, Guinea pigs, and goldfish were always in the mix, too. I was always begging my mom and dad for the next pet. Luckily, I grew up with parents who loved animals, recognized my love of animals, and were always keen to help any animals in need. I'm a nurturer by heart, and believe it's because of them. This love of animals has followed me into adulthood, and I'm so happy I get to work doing something that I truly love and enjoy! In my personal life, I help love and care for Dixie-a mixed breed rescue dog from a kill shelter in the south, Wink-a calico rescue kitty, and my sister's new Maine Coone (who I'm holding in the above pic) named Priya. Laura and the the crew at Captain Flosse are truly exceptional individuals with the kindest hearts. When I met them, I just knew I wanted to be a part of their team. I feel so lucky to have found them, which gives me the opportunity to meet all of you your pets! 😊

Meg
PET CARE SPECIALIST
My experience with Captain Flosse as both an employee and client has been wonderful.
As a special education teacher, I have time off from my job during the summer and
holidays so working with Captain Flosse is a great way to earn extra income especially
with a son as a freshman in college (Ohio University-OU-Oh Yeah!!) and a fifteen-year-
old daughter. I have always loved animals and grew up with pets. Currently we share
our home with two cats and one dog. Our dog Cupid is a sheepdog/boxer mix. I love
visiting all the furry (and feathery creatures) as a Captain Flosse Employee! I am
originally from Philadelphia and have also lived and worked in Washington, DC and
Nashville. TN. Aside from loving animals, my other interests include yoga, reading,
music, hiking, and baking.

Nathaniel
PET CARE SPECIALIST
Hello! My name’s Nathaniel Taylor. I’m Laura’s brother. Working for Captain Flosse’s Pet Service is quite enjoyable and pet care is almost second nature to me, as pets have always been a part of my life. Growing up, my family liked to refer to our house as a zoo, because we always had multiple cats and dogs. My family still has many pets to this day, including chickens! Pets are awesome companions and hold a special bond with humans. My sister has a passion to strengthen those bonds and give pets the best quality of life possible and I’m so happy to be able to provide a helping hand!

Ed
PET CARE SPECIALIST
Hi there, I'm Ed, the patriarch of Captain Flosse Dog, if you will. It's been a joy to watch my daughter Laura's immense passion for animals become a business that has blessed so many pet owners. Our house has been a home to many animals which has helped me to better understand how to care for animals in a loving, compassionate way. When Laura needs a slot filled, she'll call me in from the bullpen and I am happy to assist. I always look forward to spending some time with pets.

Anne
PET CARE SPECIALIST
Hi! My name is Anne and I am honored to say that I am mom to Laura, the creator and owner of Captain Flosse Petcare Service. It has been an absolute joy to give a home to many lovely and special furry friends all of the years that our children grew up, and to watch Laura grow in her care, understanding and nurturing nature with all animals and people. I might have been somewhat on the sidelines with all the pet care in our home, but I have done my fair share and loved every minute of it!
I also grew up in a home where pets were welcomed, loved and adored. My memories of Felix and Oscar the cats, Pumpkin my Shelty and Millie my “life change kitty” who came with me as I got married and became a mom, warm my heart every time I think of the pets, snuggles, walks and even litter cleaning that I was responsible for since Millie lived in my bedroom with me at home before getting married. Our children used to call Millie – Moomie as they toddled around our home and they loved each other so much. Such fond memories and such a deep part of my life.
I truly love to help Captain Flosse with any of their needs that I can help with such as chickens and kitties and geckos and bearded dragons! Whatever comes along my way, I truly enjoy and love them all! I couldn’t write this without paying homage to our dear departed Oyster, the beagle, who was our first family dog as the kids grew up and is the mascot of Captain Flosse fur-ever. You know what Snoopy meant to Charles Shultz? That’s what Oyster means to all of us at Captain Flosse Pet Care Service. His heart continues on in all the special care we love to share with your special pets. I am honored to help care for the animals in your life that you love and cherish.

Debbie
PET CARE SPECIALIST
Hi, my name is Debbie. I attribute my love and devotion for animals to my childhood dog, Maggie (1969-1986). It was my special bond with her that led me to pursuing a career in veterinary medicine. For over 25 years animals have remained my vocation and my advocation. I have had the opportunity to work as a Licensed Veterinary Technician with animals in many arenas - including the New England Wildlife Center (I did undergrad in Boston) - to University research ( I worked at the University of Pittsburgh with a researcher and a colony of rhesus macaques) - a brief externship at the Pittsburgh Zoo, and finally specialty veterinary medicine, starting with an internal medicine practice. My most recent employment for over 12 years was working in various departments at Pittsburgh Veterinary Specialty and Emergency Center, starting out in Emergency Medicine and moving on to explore other departments where I not only have met and grown to know hundreds of phenomenal animals and their families, but also learned so much from some of the most brilliant doctors and veterinary nurses in Pittsburgh!
Two of my special interests lie in exotics medicine and behavior. At this point of my life, I am 4 dogs old ... I have also had 4 cats during my adult life and dozens of guinea pigs, as I was in close contact with a small animal & guinea pig rescue. I consider it a wonderful opportunity to work with Laura and the Captain Flossie crew in my “semi-retirement”. Having just joined the team in September I have already met dozens of remarkable dogs/cats along with their kindhearted owners (I prefer to use the term “pet parents”) and I am truly looking forward to continuing to work with all of them and meeting more as time progresses. And I can’t say enough as to how impressed I am with Laura and the other members of Captain Flossie Dog’s Pet Service. All are highly knowledgeable and come from unique backgrounds sharing the same deep love for animals and wanting to provide the highest quality of care to our clients. I am proud and honored to be part of such an amazing team!
