🐾Donnie and Iris🐾
Put your paws together to celebrate our Pet of the Week, siblings Donnie and Iris! Named after Pittsburgh singer Donnie Iris, they are just about the most easy going and good natured kitties out there and we look forward to every visit with get with them! Sometimes they greet us at the door and other times they're hiding. Even if they are hiding, it doesn’t take them long to come out to say hi and spend the rest of the visit at our heels. Keep reading to learn more about this adorable brother sister duo!
As you may have already noticed, these two are almost identical and we still can't always tell them apart! Donnie is a little bigger and a slightly different gray than Iris, so that helps us tell them apart--most of the time, haha! They have some of the softest fur you'll have ever pet and two of the cutest faces as well! They usually get a Quick 15-20 minute quick care/check-in while their owners are on vacations. Each kitty gets a fresh can of wet food at every visit with some specialty treats sprinkled on top. Yum! Iris is usually up on the counter or down at our feet while we put their food together, so she can get as close as possible to the food. She gets so excited! Donnie on the other hand likes to stay in the living room, so he can watch from afar. After we give them their food, we also give them fresh water and we clean out their litter boxes. Cats always appreciate a fresh litter box and clean water!
Iris isn't too picky about what toys she will play with, but Donnie prefers one specific toy above all the others. It is simply a big and long white string. Though it might seem like a boring or basic toy to us, nothing is more exciting to Donnie! His pupils will get huge just before he pounces on the prize, and we love watching it! Iris will also play with the string and Donnie is a great brother to her. He will let her play with it as well. They are so sweet together and don't think a bad hiss as ever come between them. Their relationship is so pure, and we are so privileged that we can spend time with these two little darlings!
